BYU at MSG in NIT...

Playing catchup on things so 3 weeks ago...

BYU came to visit us recently. I've only been to a handful of events at the Garden. But BYU within its walls is clearly the best. But we lost. I decided it was a reality check keeping the night in perspective. We can't always be the best ;)

It was great fun seeing just about every Mormon friend that we know that lives within a 1 hr radius there at the game. We waited at the front door for some friends that were meeting us. I felt like I was there to greet the hundreds of familiar faces coming to cheer on the cougs. Maybe not hundreds...

Sitting behind media was quite the distraction. It's amazing how many papers and flashcards they have flying around the place with assistants and runners beckoning every call.

I feel old. I didn't know a soul on the team. Except I've heard of Brandon Davies. And Brock was a redshirt freshman my last year. So that's one. & coaches and trainers the same.

Great fun being with Lizzie--always.

This guy is in his element at sporting events.

At the end of the game, both teams did a prayer circle. Never seen this before. Must be a NIT thing. Or maybe because 2 church schools played each other.

Different angle of the jumbletron. Allocating every space for advertising too

Stayed for the Maryland game after. The mascot was really something.

Twilight at Central Park South...

Full moon peeping through buildings shining onto the park. Grainy cell phone pics again. Andrew and I walked to his bball game one night because it was such a beautiful night. What I anticipate being a 30 min walk was more like 45 minutes. Those darns avenues really getcha.

My favorite Pent on CPS. It is always lite up at night with a big 40 on it. So I'm assuming the address is 40 CPS. It's okay to plaster your address on your apartment front if you living on CPS.

Columbus Circle is beautiful at all hours of the day.

Carriage/Taxi traffic is a beautiful sight.

Macy's Flower Show...

I went to a Macy's Flower show probably 4 years ago when I had a business trip in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I enjoyed it so much I knew I wanted to go back when I heard it was coming through. The display was in a tent in Herald Square just outside Macy's. The window displays and centerpiece there in Macy's were very color/flowerful.  This year's flower show was India inspired.

The line to get in was maybe 15 minutes and the event was free. Stroller friendly too. And it was so warm in the tent which on a freezing day is greatly apprecaited.

My babies only lasted 5 minutes outside the stroller as they wanted to smush and potentially pick the flowers.

The orchids were amazing. Blue Orchids even. I loved the ranunculus and hydrangea too.

Nick Cave's Heard NY...

To the beat of a harpist and later the drums, some 50 horses, made of 2 persons each, dance and parade around in the most beautiful costumes designed by Nick Cave. The venue was in Vanderbilt Hall of Grand Central Station. That alone makes for an experience as the room next door is full of its own daily dance of people going to/from work. The headwear of the horses was incredible, as was the color that only amplified as the drums went along and the horses then split into separate dancers. There was something poetic about the performance. My phone doesn't even begin to do it justice. There were 2 performances a day that lasted about 20 minutes each for a week.

Propping up the costumes post-performance

Barnes & Noble in Tribeca...

With the cold Winter days extending well into Spring, we've had to get creative with our outings. Book stores for children, although original, is a new one for us. B&N has a great children's reading area with a little view to downtown. The twins wore me out though as one wanted to walk up and down the aisles and the other wanted to pull books off the shelf--until I placed them in the little green chair. I couldn't believe how long and well they just sat there flipping though books.

Easter Egg Hunting...

Grandma got the twins some backpacks to put their Easter eggs in while they were hunting. It was great fun sticking their face right in front of an egg and then watching them reach out and grab it. Simple pleasures.

The following pic was at a Easter egg hunt that mommy group put together at Riverside Park. I've done a lot of things in this city but have spent zero-zip time in Riverside Park. I know, my loss. That is going to change this summer.

Easter Sunday 2013...

Dressed in their Easter best--
These Feltman Brother outfits were gifted to the boys before they were even born.

We enjoyed being with Andrew's family for Easter this year. Everyone came out for the weekend and we were all together for the first time in maybe over a year.
